How artificial is intelligence?

On 25 October 2023, employees, partners and customers gathered at our EHAM premises to gain in-depth insights into the exciting topic of artificial intelligence. Our renowned guest, Prof Dr Alexander Pretschner, shared his expertise and shed light on both the opportunities and challenges of AI.

Using ChatGPT as one of the key examples, he emphasised the relevance of AI in today’s working environment. One of his key messages: AI is already firmly anchored in our everyday lives and it is up to us to evaluate and interpret its results. He emphasised the importance of individual assessment of what is „good enough“.

In addition to the technological advances that Prof Pretschner highlighted, he also advised us to be cautious. Not everything that AI says is necessarily true. Every AI is only as smart as the content it uses. Many questions arose in the audience on this topic in particular.

From heated debate to relaxed talks: in typical EHAM style, the evening was rounded off with a cosy atmosphere and delicious finger food from the Blyb Hotel. If we’re hosting an event that’s all about technology, we also need to make sure we have enough time for the human element.

It was an inspiring evening that gave AI a new meaning for EHAM and beyond.

It fills us with great joy that we received so much positive feedback from the participants of this event. The topics of innovation and dialogue are extremely important to us and should always be taken into account in our day-to-day business. It is particularly important for Eham employees to keep their finger on the pulse of the times. We are therefore particularly pleased that the event was so well received by the workforce.
